About Sandra Martinetto, Founder
Sandra Martinetto , founder of Spain4NYC was born and raised in Barcelona.
There, she earned a degree in Veterinary Science with a specialty in Food Technology.
Sandra arrived in New York in 1999 and, immediately seduced by its dynamism and diversity, decided to stay.
She worked Jay Chiat’s Screaming Media Company, as a sales manager opening a new market in Spain, Europe and Latin America.
Later she earned a Masters of Education degree and became a licensed New York State science teacher.
Due to her interest in science and environmentalism, Sandra became involved in several research projects, including studies on the effects of acid rain in the Adirondacks and surveys on Shelter Island ecosystems. Sandra has worked for the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) as a professional development facilitator in Food Science.
Passionately proud of Spain and her native Catalonia, Sandra consistently preached the gospel of its grandeur, its food, its wine, its arts, music, culture, history, and physical beauty to people throughout New York.
Sandra decided to turn this love and passion into a business that became Spain4NYC, dedicated to bringing together her love of all things Spain with her love of all things American, especially New York.
Her commitment to this cause goes simply beyond business, as Sandra volunteers for several non-profit organizations. She serves on the board of directors for the Hispanic Society and volunteers extensive time to the Catalan Institute of America, as well as the
Candidatura Unida Por El Consejo de Residentes Españoles (CRE), among others.
